Teammates New Showroom: sneak peak!

By | Teammates Commercial Interiors | No Comments

Countdown to Teammates’ NEW SHOWROOM is officially on!

WHY are we renovating our showroom and WHAT is our design concept?

Instead of having merely an office + showroom with products displayed across every inch of space, Teammates Commercial Interiors wanted to provide a beautiful, welcoming, high design space which reflects current trends in the workplace, one that caters more and more to the millennial generation than ever before…..and most importantly a space that feels like home!

The design concept of our showroom will be that of a COLLABORATION HUB, which will include focused work areas, group work areas, a community table, and a fabric + finish area. We will also be showcasing furniture from many of our premier manufacturers.

As construction progresses, the ‘team’ at Teammates thought it would be fun to give a sneak peak into the future design of our renovated showroom with the renderings included in this post. We look forward to sharing more previews over the next few months, and especially look forward to hosting clients in our beautiful new space!

Office Design Ideas for the Millennial Workforce in Denver

By | Teammates Commercial Interiors | No Comments

SILENCE (…not snacks!)

As we continue to see Denver based companies recruit new employees based on modern open workspaces + ‘perks’ offered, such as free food and game rooms, here is a surprising result from a survey done by Oxford Economics on what is at the top of 1,200 participants’ workplace wish lists…… Can you guess what the winner was? UNINTERRUPTED WORK! (…none said free food) Of those surveyed for this particular study, 74% worked in open workspaces. While this office design concept has received heavy backlash due to noise and privacy complaints, we are sorry to say it is definitely NOT going anywhere soon with real estate costs still on the rise.

Fast Company recently published an excellent piece on 10 Design Ideas for the Perk Workers. Below is a sampling of our favorite ideas. You can view the article in its entirety here.

Providing even sound is very important. If you are designing open meeting areas, ensure those areas are adjacent to circulation, and also place quieter areas near each other.

The millennial workforce is inspired by collaboration and activity, so design a space that offers semi-private offices that are visually connected to the rest of the office. The Altos line by Teknion offers beautiful semi-private workspaces.

Having options of quiet zones, collaborative areas, and semi-private rooms offers flexibility for users to relocated based on the type of work they are doing. Teknion’s new Zones Collection offers excellent choices for different tasks.

This is pretty self-explanatory! Teammates offers a wide array of high quality, award winning, furniture that would make any millennial worker satisfied, from modern lounge furniture, to task seating, to walls, to collaborative stations, and much more.

Trends in the Workplace

WorkplaceOne is an approach to planning and product solutions – designed to address new ways of working as individuals, teams and members of multi-generational corporate cultures.

WorkplaceOne | Trends in the workplace | Full Report

WorkplaceOne | The Brochure

In today’s top-performing companies workers spend more time collaborating and learning – gathering in meeting rooms, training rooms and team spaces, as well as lounges and cafes. Yet, many companies have not taken into consideration that dedicated workstations are being used less and less.

Study | Chair Sensors Yield Huge Savings

More natural light, more windows and better ventilation can dramatically affect worker alertness, productivity and performance. below are a few studies that reinforce that truth.

High-performance organizations increasingly emphasize collaboration and look for ways to design opportunities for interaction – great ideas don’t necessarily occur when seated at a desk or table.

WorkplaceOne | 05. Collaboration Happens Anywhere

White Paper | IBM “The New Collaboration: Enabling Innovation, Changing the Workplace.”

As collaboration evolves and becomes a more familiar work mode, it also becomes more fluid, less tied to place. The economic, environmental and health benefits can be significant.

WorkplaceOne | 06. Corporate Nomads

Once a symbol of achievement and rank, the private office is no longer an important goal for younger workers.

WorkplaceOne | 07. Space is Defined by Workstyle, Not Status

In the near future, if a company cannot document how its operations and products affect the environment – and the steps being taken to reduce that impact – it will not be able to maintain market position or make it through the RFP process.

WorkplaceOne | 08. Sustainable Design

Determing the real cost – and value – of the workplace is a complex matter. Intelligent workplace design can help companies lower costs.

WorkplaceOne | 09. Design & The Bottom Line

The trends described reflect changes in thinking about work and the workplace and require a Workplace Equation that distills the complexities of process and structure and leads into a discussion of the planning styles that we believe address today’s needs.
